Taking it's tolt...
I'm beginning to feel a bit ill. gonna have an early night to see if I can shake this.
Not Camera Shy!
Little Miss was on form yesterday. LSW and MiL were shopping in town and apparently she was getting ‘the niggles’ in a department store. LSW lifted her out of the pram and put her on a nearby bed, while she sorted the pram out. Well, Little Miss loved the bed and bounced and giggled so much it attracted attention from other customers.
A little crowd gathered ‘oo’ing, ‘ah’ing and ‘who a beautiful baby?’ at her. Little Miss loved this and stated to play up to it. So much so that a member of staff came over to investigate what was going on. They joined in with the ‘oo’s and ‘ah’s. The member of staff asked if the store could take a photo of Little Miss so they could use it in store! LSW said yes and before you know it, Little Miss is a model (kind of).
Needless to say, LSW and MiL came back proud as punch. If only these people knew what she was like at three in the morning! It took almost an hour to settle her last night, she could be an opera singer with those lungs!

A huge hit of WTF ?
Work has decided to pull the carpet from under my feet. I use Visio Professional 2003 for a lot of the Development Design Diagrams in UML. However after almost two years of using it, they’ve now discovered they don’t have the right licence.
We’re to revert to Visio 2000 Standard so its “Bye Bye” to all the UML Templates and Diagrams. They’re refusing to pay for the upgrade. That’s the equivalent to taking away a Carpenter’s only hammer.
Still no Change with Little Miss, However the feeds are taking less time and she’s finally kicked her cold she’s had since week two. If only she sleep longer than three hours.

Help ! Anybody !
What is up with Little Miss? Our little girl decides to wake every two to three hours for a feed. This is at Seven months! LSW is going to be ill again if we don’t get a break. I’m even suggesting that LSW has a (small) tipple before going to bed. Just to see if that makes a difference.
But Little Miss is so cute and cheeky. You get the feeling that she will do something really naughty and think she can get away with it because she gives a huge smile with a giggle.
Work has calmed down but that will change. TMCM will be back next week and we can expect problems for everywhere and then some. I’ll just keep my head down and refine the CV.
I only got an hour of coding in last night. This was due to the fact I was cooking, cleaning and shopping while LSW took a little break whilst watching her soaps.

The weekend that was.
It was quiet. It was pleasant. It was one hell of a surprise. LSW and Little Miss both had a relaxing and fun time. Little Miss was on especially cute form when we took her out to the shops, practically smiling at everyone who she saw. You’d think she was running for parliament. All the old grannies and kids ‘Awww’ ed as they should, which just encouraged her more.
Sunday, we took her to the play park for the first time. She didn’t seem too fussed about the see-saw but she loved the swings. In the afternoon, I finally got my mum and Dad to use the web cam they got for Christmas. It took over three ours to get them set up correctly (So much for yahoo’s easy to use messenger!) but eventually we made contact. My mother greeted me with a middle finger salute, because she could. Oh well, that’s genetics for you.
LSW and I have had nice and quiet time. No arguments, no shouting but we’ve both come to the conculsion that Little Miss has to start sleeping through the night. This Friday we start ‘OPERATION BABYSLEEP’. In order to encourage her to sleep through, LSW is going to stop breast feeding during the night. The only thing she’s going to have is water. She’s going to hate it and she’s going to scream the place down. We’re going to have to be very strong!

An on and off night
Little Miss is not eating all that much at the moment but think she’s feeling better. The problem is because she’s not eating, she’s waking more and we seem to be in a good night/ bad night cycle.
LSW has been ragging on my about expenses I had to pay out for a business trip down to London. I had to take the money out of the joint account to fund it. She’s livid. It didn’t cause us financial problems but it’s the principle I’m being told.
The Dr has been promoted at work. This means that he’s got some more authority under his belt and he’s not afraid to use it. I’m so glad he’s not my line manager.
Originally, this blog was set up with the intention of being a light hearted thing but reading through it for the last year has lead to some really depressing reading (as well as some horrendous grammar and spelling mistakes). I know I have changed since the arrival of Little Miss and so has LSW, whether our relationship can take these changes I have no idea.
LSW is going out tonight, leaving me with Little Miss. It’s going to be interesting (!) to see how things go.

It appears that the testing department might have screwed up the server which was causing the problems. This means that the pressure is off and I’ve found the additional problems which no-one else was able to replicate. Funny thing is that I still don’t know where I stand and I’ve been looking up the Job Boards. Thankfully, there seems to be plenty out there.
Little Miss settled down a bit last night but only after 3 am. It looks like she teething again. This morning she was all happy and smiles, unlike LSW and myself. Hopefully there won’t be any problems with taking her to nursery tomorrow. If she has a good day today then we might be able to get some sleep tonight.
I live in hope.

This is the end of my tether.
Little Miss is still Ill. Bad cough and she can’t sleep. LSW is not good as she’s crying due to sleep deprivation. I’m not doing much better and to top it all, if the system at work doesn’t start in a satisfactory manor tomorrow, I might as well become a Spanish Archer. (I’ll be given the El-Bow).
If I can make it through the next 24 hours it will be a miracle but it will prove I can take just about anything.

Apology to LSW
I take back what I said about LSW. She's got it worse than me at the moment and we had a little moment of solidarity earlier. Not anything to get people excited mind, just a moment where we both remebered why we were in this situation to begin with.
Little Miss has been asleep for 2.5 hours. Wow! How I haven't Jinxed it.
Little Miss has been asleep for 2.5 hours. Wow! How I haven't Jinxed it.
What a waste of time.
For the last week, Little Miss has been getting progressively better. The amount of sleep she’s getting was growing by about an hour a night until Friday, she went FIVE hours. Then we visited the in-laws. She couldn’t settle, so instead of a relaxing, restful weekend, we were back to the three hour pacing while we try to settle her.
It got worse, when we got back Sunday night, it was exactly the same. It seemed like there was a battle of wills going on between LSW and Little Miss because it was obvious that Little Miss wanted to sleep in our bed. She woke at 1 am and did not go back to sleep until 5 am.
I’m shattered and back at work, feeling a lot worse than I did on Friday. Not that anybody cares about that. LSW is ignoring me basically and to tell the truth, I not that bothered anymore.

Well, what can be said about this week except I’m so glad it’s over.
Little Miss has been to the doctor and her fever finally broke Thursday morning. She’s still not sleeping longer than a couple of hours due to the snot but that’s one thing off the list. LSW is not good however, between me and her mother we’ve convinced her to get next week signed off sick. She needs to recover. The Doctor has taken blood for tests as he thinks she might be depressed.
When I went home from work yesterday, after another 9 hour day, everything was in tatters. Queries on the database were returning Oracle Errors left right and centre and no matter what I tried, nothing worked. So reran the oracle statistics package last thing last night and went home. I came in late today, expecting to be fired but it turned out that the statistics run fixed all of my outstanding problems. Client Two will get their release as planned and that’s another crisis averted.
Scooter and the Dr. are not happy. This project is now a loss maker and that’s caused problems. However, the main issue was performance. That would have had to been tackled at some point anyway.
Even so, I’m shattered myself. I’ve managed to keep a cold at bay due to pain-killers and vitamins. I’m sleeping (kind of) on the sofa downstairs because Little Miss is sharing the Bed with LSW. I know LSW is in worse shape but if I add my troubles as well, then everything is going to collapse. It does feel we are that close to the edge.
The game is on hold, the CV is ready to go and payday is ten days away. It feels we’ve just go to hold on for a little longer.

Yet again!
I feel I’m going in a three week time loop. Little Miss was ill last night. She had a temp of over 40 C last night and no amount of Calpol could bring it down. LSW has had to take the day off work. We were on the phone to the night doctor and LSW took our little girl to the GP this morning.
All of us are knackered; I’m trying to stay awake by pumping myself full of caffeine and this is affecting my work. I’ve already let one script go bad because I missed a typo. Oh Well, I’ve given up with them, anyway. I’ve completed the CV, which is a lot more extensive than it was, and I’m just waiting for this bonus and I’ll start looking.

Well, that was interesting. I spent all of Friday working on the game or ironing baby clothes. Little Miss was at the nursery and LSW was at work. I couldn’t believe how relaxing it was just to be away from the office for a day. I felt so much better.
However, things are really getting to LSW. We’ve had another blazing row on Saturday, mostly about how we can’t keep the house clean. It was maddening because she seemed more worried about the state of the house, rather than our marriage. It’s the lack of sleep.
It’s now eight months since we both had a full nights sleep and now poor Little Miss has another tooth coming through. Temperature, waking every half hour, bright red cheeks. Last night I had about two hours unbroken sleep. Poor little girl must be in a great deal of pain. Thank the lord for calpol.
It’s Official. I’m a fat Bastard again. I’m over 15 stone again. The stresses of the last month have taken their toll. Looks like I’ll have to start looking out the
