Well we’re right back to teething Hell. Poor Little Miss was up most of last night and, as you can guess, both LSW and I are knacked. She had a temperature of over 40 degrees C. but that thankfully came down to normal. I’ve been relegated to the sofa again while Little Miss is looked after so I’ve got a back twisted like Quasimodo’s.

Work is proving difficult again. The Big Client 2 upgrade happened in Spain and already they’re querying the figures. Problem seems to lie in how they’re running the system wrong so I can relax and say, in my best Shaggy Voice; - It wasn’t me!

No game work due to a crying baby and having to do the weekly big shop.

I’m not really up for swearing in this blog but I really want to let rip at the moment. Little Miss kept LSW and I up night because we think she’s teething again. If we thought she could scream before, that’s nothing compared to now. So my Birthday was spent mostly getting a screaming child back to sleep.

Work called me on my day off to resolve a problem I knew nothing about. I was raging at them and that screwed up all my plans for Friday. I spent the rest of the day shopping for supplies for LSW, Little Miss and buying myself a DVD to cheer myself up.

I spent all day Saturday chasing a small bug on the game and it was so infuriating about it. I eventually got it sorted by the end of Sunday but I was so angry with myself, the achievement didn’t sink in.

Sunday was strange. Little Miss is beginning to like swimming. She splashes about like a maniac which is fantastic to see her so happy. It’s just when we got home that things started to get bad. We were playing with the ring stack and we were putting them on her head so she would grab them and then wave them at us. However, I put on the biggest and she burst into tears. She didn’t stop until about 8. It was horrible.

We tried Calpol, which she spat out. We tried Ambosol, which made her cry harder. We tried TLC, which worked for about ten minutes. We tried rocking her to sleep, which took two hours. Both LSW and I were exhausted by midnight because she’d woken 4 times. Then a miracle happened and she slept for hours (2 till 8). Our little girl is confusing the hell out of us.

I now have a great deal of respect for single parents. Even with help from the In-Laws, I was knackered. I ended up not doing any work on the game and passed out in front of the Telly at about 8:30. You just don’t realise how a little person can take so much effort.

The weekend was hectic, I recovered from my virus and then it was visitors ago-go. Little Misses Godparents turned up for a meal and a good time was had by all. Sunday We took Little Miss Swimming, she was not sure about it to begin with but by the end, she was splashing about like she was in the bath.

Then my parents turn up, My Sister-In-Laws’ grandmother died last week, so they were coming down for the funeral. Still they got they’re Little Miss ‘Fix’ and took us out for a meal.

Monday was the real boring back at work routine, with a slight panic at client one when an upgrade went off the boil. I managed to get it working with 2 minutes to spare but that nothing to yesterday.

LSW went down with Gastric Flu. Things were exploding from both ends. I dropped Little Miss off a nursery and went to work in the morning. It was only when I got home for lunch did I realise how bad the situation was. She couldn’t take fluids and was loosing about a pint or so every half hour. I took the afternoon off and spent the time phoning round NHS Direct and then the Doctors and picking up prescriptions (as well as game coding when she was asleep)

Thankfully the In-Laws have turned up today and are looking after both LSW and Little Miss. Looks Like LSW is off again for another week, don’t think her work are too happy about it.
